The main types of cold forming processes are distinguished by the deformation of the material:
Extrusion: The metal is forced to flow through a die to reduce its diameter or create internal cavities. Up-setting: The material is built up to form screw or bolt heads. Shearing: Clean cutting of sheet metal to obtain the desired shape. Bending and Curving: Deformation of sheet metal to achieve specific angles or curves. Deep drawing: Transformation of a flat sheet into a hollow body, such as cups or cylinders. Embossing: Surface deformation to imprint precise details.
